Hello everyone! I made some fabulous vintage finds this past week-end with Constant Companion Nancy. Friday was sort of our swan song since she is going back to work part-time, including Fridays. Boo hoo. But we’ve already decided to keep a regular Tuesday date, during which we’ll shop thrift stores together (which we’ve been limited to during the winter anyway). Enough of my sob story–shall we dive in?
We hit one sale held by a woman who knew she had valuable items, but she was selling them at very reasonable prices. Some exceeded our budget, but others, like this little chest, did not.
It seems to be hobbled together out of a couple of varieties of wood.
It needs a good clean and then I think it’ll be ready for Etsy, somewhere in the $45 range.
I need to research this piece a bit more. So far I’ve discovered that Fenton manufactured this delightful carnival glass, basket weave bowl, but I think green must be a rare color because I could only find marigold bowls of this shape for sale anywhere on line. There is a very slight carnival glass type of iridescence which the photo does not capture very well. Carnival-glass.net has lots of good info about this pretty type of glass.
I find this huge tape dispenser very impressive and think it would look great in a retro office.
I’m pretty sure I bought tape for this size last week; now, I just gotta find it–
(Say a prayer for me, if you think of it!)
I hit a nice sale on Saturday held by a couple who were trying to combine two homes into one. I scored amazing deals on a Dyson vacuum and a Hoover rug cleaner, each for just $10! I also left with a small box of supplies like tape and wire, along with a bag of ten pairs of brand new, leather yard gloves (above). I’m thinking about stenciling the numbers “1” and “2” on them, and then offering them for sale for $8-10. What do you think?
I’m quite in love with this gorgeous, wrought iron sconce. I have absolutely nowhere to put it,
so I’ll be listing it on Etsy soon for something like $65.
Always need markers, right? This whole set of Pentel brand markers cost just $1,
so I scooped them up.
This nifty little ladder could be used for a variety of ladder projects, but for smaller spaces, since it’s rather diminutive. I love the idea of hanging a ladder from the ceiling of a kitchen, then hanging pots and pans off the rails using “S” hooks.
I think it’s pretty handsome, probably worth about $12 in my Etsy shop.
The little chest is darling and love the ladder. Great idea about numbering the gloves. I just took several pairs of heavy canvas work gloves to the booth. May go and snatch them back to stencil!
I would say you all rocked it again! That sconce is beautiful friend! I can't wait to hit the flea market next weekend myself as finding beauties like these is so fun! Happy week to you friend! Nicole xoxo
It's so hard to let go of some of our treasures, isn't it? Great finds, I especially love those little drawers. Stencils would be great on the gloves…how about L and R?
You totally racked up. I love the little chest and the idea of using the little ladder as a pot rack. Best of luck that others also have your vision! Oh, and how could you not scoop up markers when they're only a buck!? 😉
Love the wooden box and ladder, Diana! You did very well this week!
Thank you Rita!
Great haul…I too love the little wooden box, though I have no place for it…it is still really cute!
Thanks, Veralynne! That's why I always have to have an outlet (my Etsy shop) to
pass things on 🙂

Wow! You found some really great things. That box is just fabulous, and stenciling the gloves is such a sweet idea.

Love, love all your finds! I have one of those ladders, a little larger though from my farmhouse in the 80's. Can't bear to part with it yet though!

Great finds as always! Thanks for sharing @ TTF!
