This Week’s Vintage Finds #130
Hi everyone! Today’s post is a quickie. I wrote up a full post yesterday and then at 11:30 pm lost it–literally. I lost the post and then I lost my cool! So here are some finds I’ve made over the past few weeks. Hope you enjoy 🙂
Though likely dating only to the 50’s or 60’s, this brass lantern has a nice older look.
Cost: $2.00, value: $18-22.00.
Love these two pieces and may be hanging on to them for a while (cost: $3.00 each, value: $25-35.00 (grater), $18-25.00 (beater) ).
Liked the look of this punched metal canister (cost: $2.00, value: $15-18.00).
Copper is still trending, so I tend to pick up interesting items like these molds.
I especially like the squirrel (cost: 25¢ each, value: $12-15.00 for all four).
I like to have equestrian-related items in my booth during the Saratoga track season (July and August), hence my buying this newer silver-plated bottle opener (cost: 50¢, value: $8-10.00).
Vintage scales of most kinds tend to be collectible, as are items from big companies like Pitney Bowes. This scale dates to 1974 (cost: $3.00, value: $25-35.00).
I bought this trophy because of an idea I noticed on Pinterest. You can use the figurine portion of an award to create a reusable cork. Nifty idea, right? (Cost: 25¢) [My mother was an award-winning bowler who also happened to own a liquor store, so this would be a cute gift for her.]

An antique oak framed mirror (cost: $2.00, value: $18-22.00).
A pen and ink drawing of a puppy and a bird (cost: $2.00, value: $12-15.00).
A photograph of two Amish children, likely walking to school (cost: $2.00, value: $25-30.00).
A 1970’s era chalk/bulletin board that will benefit from a makeover (cost: $1.50).
A hand-blown water pitcher (cost: 50¢, value: $12-15.00).
One of the ways you can tell a hand-blown piece is by looking for an applied handle, like this one.
Final Find: These pretty little bottles stand about 2 1/2″ tall and date to the 1970’s. They were likely produced in celebration of the Bicentennial and mimic antique bottles with similar coloring and embossing. About 12 were made in the set (cost: 25¢ each, value: $2-3.00 each).

Our vintage link party opens Thursday at 8 am–

Lots of great finds this week. I love the three little colored glass bottles and the pin and ink drawing.
Fantastic finds this week. I really like the Vintage kitchen items. So sorry you lost your post. You put so much into them that I am sure you are beyond upset.
Great goodies you found this week! Sorry about your frustration..
Actually, they all are interesting and unique in their own way. I love the old kitchen egg beater and the puppy and bird drawing and the water pitcher especially.
So sorry you lost your first post, but really enjoyed this one!!
All great finds. Love that trophy and bottle opener. I had a vintage hand blown pitcher very similar to that one and it recently broke. I was so bummed! Now I’m on the look out for another one! xoKathleen Charm Bracelet Diva {At Home}
Love the vintage kitchen items, and the horse bottle opener is also neat.
Florence
Such wonderful goodies, Diana…love the utensils especially! I have had posts disappear twice on me…so frustrating. The last time, I used ctrl Z It restores your last motion…brought my post back for me!
Great finds! My favorite is the beater – how rudimentary.
Thanks for sharing with SYC.
Like the photo and colored bottles.
Love the old grater and the beater … both look very vintage. The drawing of the puppy and the bird is so sweet. Thanks for including information about each item and estimated value. I subscribed via email again and hope to start receiving your blog soon.
Diana, the glass pitcher is really nice. The old grater and beater are cool. Interesting framed pieces. Thanks for sharing. Sylvia D.
Great finds this week! 🙂
So sorry about the post. It’s so frustrating when that happens. Love the grater and the egg beater, and that pen and ink drawing is adorable. I pretty much love the look of copper anything.
