4 Fabulous Vintage Style Signs
Hi everyone! How’s your week going? I finished up some vintage signs that I thought you might like to see today.
This “Gather” sign is one of my favorites.
Not too long ago, I picked up these three pieces of scrap wood at an estate sale. I used the black one in back for the Gather sign.
First I had to cover up a couple of bare spots (after cleaning and removing stray nails).
The white “frame” and the wonderful aged surface make this piece special.
I used some 3″ letter stencils that I had on hand to spell the word. Available for $38.00.
You’ve seen my “Fresh Eggs” sign, but the “Grocery Store” sign is new.
I used this gorgeous piece of bird’s eye maple that I picked up at the Habitat for Humanity Restore about a month ago.
It too is available in my shop ($38.00).
These two signs were made with the same stencil (Farm Fresh Eggs 25ยข). I like how you can use all or just part of it to customize your sign, depending on the size and shape of your piece of wood.
For this sign, I used an old bread board.
After stenciling, I waxed each sign to protect the words from wear or scratching.
Making signs has become addictive, so I’m very happy that they are popular in my booth at the Gristmill Antique Center.
The “Grocery Store” & “Farm Fresh Eggs 25ยข” stencils
can be purchased at Homestead Stencil Company.

Bye for now,
Love them all. I like the font on fresh eggs sign.
Thanks Debra, so sweet of you to say ๐
I love the Gather one, too. So glad they’re selling well for you! If I can find some great wood like you did I might be tempted to make a few signs of my own:) xo Kathleen @ Charm Bracelet Diva {At Home}
Like I said, it’s getting addictive ๐ Thanks for stopping by and chatting!
Love your signs and I love Homestead Stencils! They have such a great variety. You have inspired me in past posts and this one to pick up things that can be made into signs. I have two now just waiting to be made over, along with two mirrored cabinet doors I want to stencil and add hooks to.
You’ve made my day AnnMarie! Glad I could be a source of inspiration and I look forward to seeing your signs ๐
You could use 3 pieces and do HOME SWEET HOME
Great idea Rose ๐
This is an amazing idea! Thanks for sharing. Hi, I’m Anita visiting Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop.
Thank you Anita–so nice to meet you. Thanks for the visit; I’ll be returning the favor ๐
Love your signs I love the fonts used. I’m planning to do a sign of my own, but it will probably read either coffee or gin & tonic. I do like the white on black.
Thanks, Claire–would love to see your signs once you’ve made them ๐
What gorgeous signs, great job. Thanks for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop. Pinned.
Love all your signs, especially that GATHER one. That’s been on my to-make list for awhile and it never occured to me to put it on a black background. Its rather classy that way. ๐
Love them all. Thanks for sharing! Cynthia
