This Week’s Vintage Finds #145 [Jewelry]
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for all of your kind thoughts and prayers yesterday–what a blessing you all have been to me. I spent yesterday with family, and I sensed your prayers a work, and we are gratefully thanking God for working in our midst. We know he is with us as we continue to walk out the current trials of life. One of my favorite verses comes to mind: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight, (Proverbs 3:5). Amen.
Today I have another “emergency” post for you that I had prepared in advance. It’s a jewelry-focused post containing much of the jewelry that I’ve bought over the past six months or so. I hope you enjoy it.
Do you remember last year when Melissa at Melissa’s Antiques collected scads of beautiful enamel pins for her wedding bouquets? I don’t find them too often in my neck of the woods, but when I do, I snatch them up (cost: $1.00, value: $10-12.00). They are very good sellers. This one is 2 1/2″ across.
Check out Melissa’s bouquet tutorial here.
Pins
Another enamel daisy pinย (cost: $1.00, value: $10.00). 2″ across. Available
For the life of me I can’t remember where I bought thisย Italian medal, the Ordine di Vittorio Veneto. I learned that an Italian Presidentย established it in 1968, fifty years after the end of WWI (cost: 25ยข, value: $20-30.00?). ย In the shape of a Greek cross, they were given to veterans, along with an annuity if their income was below a certain amount. 4 1/2″ including the ribbon.
A 4″ large, heraldic pin, c. 1980’s (cost: $1.00, value: $18-25.00). Available
Fromย the back you can seeย that it can be worn as a pin or a pendant (loop at top toย string a chain through).
A pretty china pin with a floral transfer (cost: 25ยข, value: $5-6.00).ย Available
Bracelets & Watches
I’m a real bracelet girl, so I’m going to have a hard time selling this rhinestone encrusted beauty (cost: $1.00, value: $20-25.00). 6 3/8″ not including the clasp.ย Available
I have a stash of old, broken watches collected for various projects. This one will be added to the pile (cost: 25ยข). It’s stretchy and measures 6″ including the clasp.
This beautiful piece, also rhinestone encrusted, was once a watch. The central circular piece would have flipped open to reveal a watch face. 7″ including the clasp.
It still flips open, but no watch. I’m wearing it right now and it makes a stunning bracelet (cost: $1.00, value: $20-25.00).
Pendants & Necklaces
This pretty pendant needs a good cleaning. The verdigris you see means the metal is made of copper or brass (cost: $1.00, value: $12-15.00). Pendant 2 1/2″, chain 19.” (SOLD)
I bought this small locket because I felt sure it was gold-filled (gold plated), but I’ve not found a mark on it yet, so I could be wrong. But the color of the gold seems right to me (cost: 25ยข, value: $8-10.00 if GF). 3/4″ long.
This fun piece has a mobile-like effect in that the basket sways on chains connected to the balloon. I believe it dates to the 1970’s when large pendants like this were popular (cost: $1.00, value: $15-18.00). Pendant 3 1/2″, chain 24.” (SOLD)
The balloon is markedย ยฉ Camelot, which is a new jewelry mark for me. I found other jewelry for sale online with the same mark, but noย informationย about the company.
I find almost any kind of iridescent, aurora borealis beads hard to pass up. Black is an unusual color for that treatment (cost: 50ยข, value: $10-12.00). ย 15″ not including the hook. Available
Rings
With its distinctly modern design, thisย cocktail ringย likely dates to about the 1970’s (cost: $1.00, value: $12-15.00). It has an adjustable band as many costume cocktail rings do.
It’s markedย ยฉ Emmons, a company started at about the same time as Sarah Coventry, by Charles Stuart. He named Sarah Coventry after his granddaughter and Emmons after his wife, Caroline Emmons. Set up as in-home party sales companies (like Tupperware), Emmons went out of business in 1981 andย Sarah Coventry in 1984. A failed SC revival was attempted from 2003-2008.
This pretty cocktail ring, a bit on the smaller side, bears a Middle Eastern sort of design (cost: 25ยข, value: $5-6.00).ย Available
Final Fabulous Find: If I didn’t already own so many cocktail rings, this one might have made it into my jewelry box–I love black and gold together! The stone and filigree measure 1 1/8″ long, and it has an adjustable band (cost: $1.00, value: $10-12.00). (SOLD)

Bye for now,
Always adding new merchandise!
Our vintage link party opens Thursdayย at 8 am–
I also love old jewelry, esp brooches! The pendant/necklace is stunning!! I would easily pay $15+ for it!!
You got lucky on finding some beautiful pieces of jewelry!
I love the vintage jewelry and that watch as a bracelet is gorgeous.
So many fun goodies…just fun to see the different styles! I’m glad things are looking brighter for you!
I love the bracelets and watch especially! They are all great finds.
I like the watches. Prayers.
Continued prayers for your family. I could not possibly pick a favorite of today’s jewelry! I always wonder about vintage things – I wonder whose chest that Italian medal was first pinned on, and why oh why haven’t the family of that man treasured it? And I wonder about the jewelry – who bought it first and what was the occasion they planned to wear it to? My family claims I am related to Walter Mitty….but I think I’m just curious!
What pretty finds, Diana!
The china rose pin is lovely
Great finds here, love the balloon necklace, just so unique. Thanks for sharing, Sandi
Ahhhhh! Love your jewelry finds! From the medals to the balloon pendant – you found a few treasures, indeed! And so sorry to read about this difficult time you are going through… I have had to be reminded several times by that same Bible verse. I’m glad it is helping you now.
Diana, What a wonderful collection of jewelry. The hot air balloon pendant is my favorite with the silver colored watches a close second. I’ve sent a prayer up on your behalf. Sylvia D.
Not a jewelry person, but I admire jewelry, & it looks like you have some lovely and interesting pieces. I like the rhinestone watch/bracelet too, and the black necklace is very nice. Hope things are going better for you & your family.
Hope things are getting better! You scored some gorgeous jewelry! I don’t really collect any other than the flower pins that you showed. I only have 4 or 5, but I find them to be fun. I pin them to a quilt I made in my sewing room. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
My favorite is the China rose pin. I’m always attractive by Asian things. Other accessories are amazing as well, they also have affordable prices. Thank you so much for sharing!
