This Week’s Vintage Finds #13

Recently, a house not too far away from me held and estate sale, so of course I popped in. The family itself ran the sale, not an outside company. So when I asked one of the gals how much an item would cost, she said make me an offer. We chatted for a couple of minutes and what they were expecting was so reasonable, I knew we’d arrive a mutually satisfactory total after I finished shopping. I fell in love with the little tapestry above and have already placed it in my Etsy store.

You’re probably wondering what I’m planning to do with three cheesy flags! I’ve had in mind lately the idea of tea dying them and then framing them. What do you think?

I’m a bit of a jar fanatic, so when I saw this one, along with its twin, I decided I must have them!

This willow basket really spoke to me; I think it has some age to it. After spending quite a bit of time researching it, I finally added it to my Etsy inventory.

Who can pass up a collection of pretty pears?

I’m not really sure what these molds are for, but with prices being as low as they were, I decided to scoop them up. This is just about a quarter of the total amount in the box I purchased. I’m pretty sure they’re for plaster, but I’m going to try sculpty clay. I’ll let you know how they work 🙂

If you read my last post, you know that I’m in a pedestal stand making phase. I bought these graduated cake pans thinking I could make them into a three tiered stand, cool idea huh? Of course you see them all over the place on Pinterest and many blogs. I think they’ll work well.

I like these old pie tins; something about them seems so homey. I bought three of them(!).

This odd little hunk of metal is a metal stamping block for stamping shapes and letters onto metal, like old flatware. We’ve all seen the cool, flattened spoons with the names of various herbs stamped on the bowl of the spoon, right? Well, I wanted to try it out, so I shopped around for a set of stamps and finally found one at Harbor Freight for $9.99. With my 25% off coupon, I got it for $7.50, plus a free mini flashlight! It’s been about two months since I bought the set, but I’ve been too stubborn to pay $15 for the stamping block, which I had discovered is a pretty essential part of the process(!). So when I saw this at the estate sale, I scooped it up. Not sure what it’s original purpose was, but it works great for stamping. I already stamped my first spoon!
