Booth Sales for January
Hi everyone! I experienced such a great response to my Booth Sales for December post that I decided to keep it up on a monthly basis. The only difficulty I’ve encountered so far is that I don’t have photos of every item that I sell. You’d think with all my weekly finds posts that I would have photographed virtually everything, but that’s not the case. It seems as though I only take photos of about half of what I buy.
January’s gross sales at my booth totaled $536.50, more than my goal of $400/month (woo woo). My cost of goods sold totaled $76.00 or 14% of my gross sales–a little over my average of 10%/month. And you may remember my rent is $130/month, so that makes my net profit for January equal to $330.50. Let’s take a look at what sold, shall we?
A green handled rolling pin sold for $10.00 (cost: $1.00).
A yellow, chippy-er version of this Fresh Eggs sign sold for $25.00 (cost: $1.00).
Even with two holes in the top, my old oak farm table sold for $95.00 (cost: $5.00), as did the large, pottery bowl on the far left for $45.00 (cost: $6.00).
An English cottage sugar bowl sold for $6.00 (cost 25¢).
I decorated with this sled/shovel/skates combo for a couple of Christmases and then decided to sell it this year. I priced it at $65.00, which I thought pretty fair given those gorgeous blue, leather skates. After Christmas, I received a call from the shop, “Would I separate the sled from the skates?” I said yes and sold the sled for $30.00 (cost: $5.00) and asked the shop to set the rest aside. I decided to keep the skates for now, but when I do sell them, I’ll price them at about $40-50.00. They’re well worth it, right?
Lincoln’s Devotional sold for $8.00 (cost: $1.00).
An American Gas Co. lantern with an enamel shade sold for $45.00 (cost: $5.00).
This large, IKEA cow print, mounted on foam core, was a bit of an odd buy for me, since that spring green background is pretty modern looking, but the handsome cow sold me. So, not only did I buy one, I bought two. This one sat outside on the shop’s “porch” (bleaching a bit in the sun) and finally sold for $16.00 (cost: $3.00), the other one is part of a pile of “art” leaning against my desk at this very moment. It will make its way to the shop eventually.
Back in the spring, I gave this little tilt-top table a makeover. I used it as an end table for several months and then brought it up to the shop a few weeks ago. I guess the price was right: $25.00 (cost: $5.00).
A small Mark Twain figurine sold for $6.00 (cost: 25¢).
A neat old Keuffel & Esser Co. slide rule with busted case sold for $22.00 (cost: $3.00).
I bought this poster and frame separately and “married” them together for a $25.00 sale (cost: $1.00 for each the poster and the frame).
My Mt View Ave sign sold almost immediately for $85.00 (cost: $25.00). You may remember, right before Christmas, I bought it in Sharon Springs at their Victorian holiday celebration. That’s it for this month–happy hunting friends!!

Bye for now,
I’d love it if you’d pin me for later!
Since I buy and sell vintage items thru etsy, I really enjoy your sales recap. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Lots of great items, Diana…makes me miss my selling days! Fun to see what your up to!
Great post. Super interesting to hear how you do each month. Thanks.
You are doing so well, Diana. and at such a great gross margin %! Way to go! We did not have a good January. In fact, one sister had to actually pay, as her sales did not even equal rent. Bummer.
Glad you are making this a monthly feature. I really enjoy these kinds of posts! Pinned!
I love to see what other people sell and at what price points! Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed your Booth Sales post in December so I am glad you carried on this year. Great stock.
Joy
Great month, surprising January sales were always strong for me when I had the shop. People shopping and gifting themselves. Grins, great post, yes–please continue, Sandi
I love how you share so much with us. I have a space in an antique mall and love seeing your displays and the items and the prices……I usually think your prices are on the low end….I need to get geared up and do a “do over” in my space…I love decorating with Spring things. Carry on! Kathleen
That’s amazing, Diana! It’s also amazing to see what people will buy and the prices they’re will to pay, considering they don’t know what you bought it for.
While I don’t have a booth or space, I too find these posts interesting. 😀 My take away, is I hope you’re making more signs, and whomever bought that farmhouse table got a killer deal! 😀 Boy would I love to have that as a kitchen island. Thanks for sharing, and I hope your Feb is equally successful!
Love seeing your shop and the things you find and sell. Please keep on doing it. I liked seeing among everything else, your Mt. View sign. We used to live on Mt. View Dr. And just to the left of it, a little peek at a shiny Christmas tree which caught my eye It gave me that feeling once again of something magical . I love to turn all the lights out when my tree–7ft. is up and decorated, and just have the tree lights on—of course they have to be colored lights,no plain old white ones in my house, and the reflection of the lights on the glass balls, etc. Just Magical.! Makes you feel like a little kid again Sorry, that little glimpse of your tree took me right back again! And you thought you were just showing your neat sold items. 🙂 Anyway I love seeing pictures of your shop and I really zone in and look at every little detail since I can’t be there in person.
By the way, I’m in love with those beautiful blue skates with fur cuffs! What a fantastic find.
