Vintage Block + Bottle Brush Tree Christmas Decoration
Hi there! I hope you’re not exhausted from my 12 Days of Christmas :0 If you’ve made it this far, you only have two days left and the last two projects are my absolute favorites, so I hope you’ll come back to check them out.
Today I have easy but darling project, which takes approximately 45 seconds to make. Really. I mean it. We’re going to make vintage block + bottle brush tree Christmas decorations that you can use year after year in your holiday decor.
Don’t worry if you’ve missed any of the twelve days; for your convenience, they can all be found here. And I have even more Christmas projects here, if you’re in the crafting and DIY mode (as so many of us are!).
Combining two nostalgic items like vintage blocks and bottle brush trees means this project packs extra impact.

To make some of your very own you’ll need: wood glue, vintage blocks, and bottle brush trees.
You’ll also need a drill of some sort, whether a full-sized electric one, a hand-held version, or a Dremel. I keep my drill out on one of my work benches so it’s easy for me to just grab it.
How to Make Vintage Block + Bottle Brush Tree Christmas Decoration
Drill a small hole about 1/2″ into your block. Pull off the base of your bottle brush tree, using pliers to help, if necessary. Put a dab of wood glue on the exposed metal trunk and insert it into the block.
You can make these, right??
I do prefer the trees with snow on their branches, but I ran out and had to make do. Both versions are selling well from my craft show booth at $5 each.
Here are some of my vintage block creations for sale in my booth. If I can make Christmas-y words with available blocks, then I glue them together.
With the smaller ones, I place an eye screw in the top for hanging on a tree, but the larger ones I leave as is, for placing on a side table or the mantel.

Cute stuff! I rarely see the blocks but I might have to start picking them up when I do!
Those are cute!
Adorable!
These are really cute. Now I’m kicking myself for not picking up that bag of blocks at a tag sale this summer! If you don’t already have a flocked tree, dry brush a little chalk paint on the tree. Instant flocking!
Love it–and wouldn’t it be lovely to give them as a last name “Monogram” gift.Having been a magpie in a previous life, I love glitter. I put a glop (yes, this is a technical word!) of Tacky glue on my finger and brush it sparingly on the BBT. Then I roll the tree in glitter and call it good! It is also pretty on top of already snowed trees to add more glitz.
Love it, my favorite too! “45 seconds” LOL!!!
