Happy Valentine’s Chalkboard
Hi everyone! I couldn’t let Valentine’s Day slip by without wishing you all a happy day. I don’t do a lot of Valentine’s decorating, but Iย decided it was finally time to erase my Christmasย chalkboardย and replace it with one more appropriate for the season–the season of love.
I chose a scripture (1 Peter 4:8) about love rather than a traditional Valentine’s saying.ย This verse about loving deeply has always meant a lot to me.
I “made” my chalkboard using a barn board frame I had on hand (picked up at a yard sale) and a 16″ x 20″ poster that fit the opening perfectly. I sprayed the poster with a coat of chalkboard spray paint, inserted it into the frame, and it was done.
I did the lettering free-hand, but found examples of fonts and decorative elements I liked by searching Pinterest.
I kept it all fairly simple, adding embellishments as I went along. I drewย the heart at the top and the arrow in the middleย last, to add some balance and to make it all a bit more Valentine-y. I hope your day is blessed and that you get the chance to love those in your life deeply, from the heart.
Thanks so much for stopping by —

Bye for now,
The party’s open through Monday,ย 8 am–

You do well with your lettering and I see no evidence of erasing and starting again. I’m taking a calligraphy class next Saturday. I hope it improves my writing though as I age a hand tremor becomes more pronounced and affects my writing. Challenges of life!
Very nice. That is a saying that you can leave up for a while. And your artwork and font selection is perfect.
I love it, Diana! You did a beautiful job with it! I love making chalkboard art…it’s fun…and free art!
Happy Valentines Day!
