Vintage Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to my Christmas home tour. It’s been an enjoyable season of crafting with vintage and upcycled pieces, decorating, and cooking. I know that my sweet husband and sweet children look to me to set the tone for the holidays, so I always hope and pray that I remain peaceful and have a good attitude. That’s my goal, and at the very center, I want to honor God with my words and actions and be mindful that this is a time to celebrate God’s goodness and love. That said, I’d love to show you some of my holiday decorating, especially the vintage-y parts.

Front Door Christmas Wreath
Welcome to our home. I hope your holidays are as rich and filled with joy. Come on in and walk with me through our first floor.

Foyer Putz village scene
In the foyer, you’ll see my Putz village made up of both vintage and newer Putz houses, along with bottle brush trees, mercury glass objects, and some home-made glittery trees made out of toilet paper tubes .

Hand made glitter trees and bottle brush treesI firmly believe that you can never have too much glitter.

Christmas TreeThe Christmas tree straddles the foyer and the living room.

The NativityOur china nativity, sitting on the living room coffee table, was a special gift from my mother, years ago.

Corner cupboard filled with ironstoneWalking toward my kitchen, you’ll spy my corner cupboard. I’ve tucked some vintage and new bulbs in amongst the ironstone and hung a home-made wreath on the door. Recently, I wrote two posts on ironstone, one about my personal “collection” and another, a price guide, giving some values for various pieces.

Ironstone and vintage pink christmas bulbs
The vintage pink bulbs, and the newer pine cone and Santa head, look beautiful nestled against the old ironstone.

Vintage ironstone and vintage christmas decorations
I’ve never been one for cutesy deer, but they are definitely growing on me!!

Christmas flower arrangementI bought some gorgeous greens at Trader Joe’s for $5.00 and two bouquets of flowers at Aldi’s, on sale for $3.29 each, and the resulting arrangement is still going strong.

Christmas card in flower frog I’m using some of the flower frogs from my inventory to hold my Christmas cards.

Vintage Christmas DisplayOn my favorite cupboard in the kitchen, I’ve grouped a number of vintage collectibles, along with my new-this-year tree made from hunks of wood I picked up at an estate sale.

Vintage wood block Christmas treeIt’s topped with a 3-D cardboard star attached to an old bed spring.

Silver Deer head with boxwood wreath
Also in the kitchen you will find this new Home Goods deer circled by my favorite boxwood wreath from Target.

Greens & CandlesIn our family room, off the kitchen, the coffee table is decorated with greens and candles.

Putz village under clocheAnd an end table boasts a small Putz village under my “birthday” cloche (a gift from my sweet husband).

Bottle brush trees in mini green houseI even did a little decorating in our office this year. I loved all the greenhouses filled with bottle brush trees that I’ve seen out in blogland and decided I must have one of my own.

Red truck with christmas treeAnd a truck with a tree, yeah, I needed one of those too.

Merry Christmas!
