Hi everyone! I hope you had a great week-end. I mostly stayed home, but I did make a quick trip to Captain’s Treasures, a thrift store in Clifton Park (NY) and then a stop at the City Mission in Glenville (NY). I came home with almost nothing. Well not nothing, but next to nothing in the vintage category. Two really nice long-sleeved shirts for my sweet husband, a small cork board (for a project), a belt (project), ski pants (for my sweet daughter–didn’t fit), and a vintage, largish address/notebook. In lieu of some vintage finds, tomorrow I’ll be sharing one of my “collections.” I think you’ll find it interesting. But today I’ve got another stenciled project for you.
I picked this old crate up at an estate sale just a couple of week’s ago and decided I wanted something wintery for the center of my kitchen table.
I filled it with some pine cones and berry garland that I had tucked in a big wooden dough bowl. I wanted something a little bigger.
This guy is a statement piece. I used the same stencil I used for my Farm Fresh Eggs 25¢ sign. I bought it from the eBay store, Homestead Stencil Company. I found a Farm Fresh Stencil of a different sort on Amazon, if you’re an Amazon shopper.
I use acrylic craft paint and a dollar store makeup sponge to apply my paint. It takes about 3 minutes. After it dries overnight, I give it a spritz of Krylon 11-Ounce Low Odor Clear Matte Finish Aerosol Spray. Simplest project EVER.
With very satisfying results, no matter which way you look at it.
