Let’s Take a Tour of My Christmas Craft Booth (Day #5)

Hi there! I’m so glad you’ve joined me for Day #5 of my 12 Days of Christmas special event. Today I’m taking you on a little tour of my booth at the Shaker Christmas craft show. Unlike booths that you can walk into, mine is long and narrow, but this year’s is a bit larger than last, which is nice.

If you’ve missed any of the initial 12 Days of Christmas posts, then you can find links to Days #1-4 here.

Let's Take a Tour of My Christmas Craft Booth adirondackgirlatheart.comI’ve been selling at this local craft show for several years now. It’s one of the most popular in the area and is great for sellers because the organization sells our merchandise for us. I don’t have to be present, which is fortunate given that it’s an eight week event(!).

Sideview of craft booth space To create my booth I use tables and large crates for the base and then stack shelving, other display pieces, and drawers on top. In this photo you see the far right side of my space.

Sideview of craft booth spaceMoving down you come to the center, made up of a crate, topped by a small cupboard, topped with an antique drawer.

Sideview of craft booth spaceAnd finally on the far left, you find a staircase-style display sitting on top of a folding table and atop the staircase rests a large, shallow drawer sitting on it’s side. This allows me to use the bottom of it to hanging small goods.

Cohesion comes through painting some of the furniture displays the same color and by spreading similar items across the entire display, rather than clumping them altogether.

My booth at the Shaker Christmas craft showHere you see the bottom of that large shallow drawer I just described, along with one of the “steps” on the staircase display.

My booth at the Shaker Christmas craft showI love displaying my vintage farmhouse projects using this drawer as a backdrop.

Vintage Green gather platterEvery year I sell numerous platters stenciled with the word “gather.” So this year, I decided to play it smart and make a bunch in advance of the show. I don’t think I’ve sold one yet, LOL. You just never know in this business. I have sold quite a few of the vintage thread spools with bottle brush trees, which I really enjoy making ($3.50 each).

Scrabble & Yardstick ornamentsThese vintage scrabble and yardstick ornaments that I came up with last year continue to be very popular ($6 each). The red sold out first, but red yardsticks are hard to come by, so I pick up whatever seems likely to work for Christmas.

Postcard decoration and vintage toy shovel decorationThroughout the year, I grab up any cool old thing that I think will benefit from embellishment with one of my mini wreaths (or music paper star w/mini wreath), like this old toy shovel (sold for $10). To the left is a glitterized antique postcard–a project from Day #2 ($6).

Vintage folding ruler star If you’ve been following along with the 12 Days of Christmas extravaganza, then you read about how to make these folding ruler stars yesterday, Day #4 ($12).

Pine arrangement in vintage measure I do a couple of small pine “arrangements” (more like, “throw-them-all-togethers”) every year in various containers. This large measuring tin seemed the perfect receptacle for one ($20).

Mini basket with greens and wreath Can anyone else besides me see all the strands of hot glue (and is that dust on the bottom of the basket???)? These old eyes aren’t what they used to be. I’m guessing someone my age or older bought this because they couldn’t see all the flaws either, LOL ($8).

Mini baskets with vintage clothespinsI typically sell several sets of five gingham-tied vintage clothespins every year ($3.50 each), but this year, I place ten in a few different containers, including baskets and small crocks ($10).

Vintage red truck Merry Christmas signI bought this new-to-me stencil a few months ago and used it on a piece of scrap wood that I painted antique white ($25). If I have time, I might make one more.

Vintage oil painting of red barn in winter
I always like to have a piece or two of “real” art available in my booth, especially home-y farmhouse ones like this red barn in the snow (sold for $35).

I hope you enjoyed taking a closer look at my craft booth and found some inspiration for your own personal or business crafting. I’d love to hear all about it if you do!
