From Vintage Belt to Beautiful Bracelet

For the end of the white, faux leather bracelet, I cut it at a diagonal and sewed it into place.
For the rope bracelet, I cut it to size and held the fibers of the cut end in place with masking tape. Then I pried the metal clip off the tip of the belt with a screw driver and reapplied it to the masking tape end of my bracelet. I used a rubber mallet to lightly tap it into place. You may have to finagle the metal “teeth” a bit to get them to clamp down on the belt end the way you’d like.
Looks like the proper end of a belt now.
Here’s a shot of the white one. I think it would be fun to wear with a brightly colored summer dress, like sea green or tangerine.

I love this idea! So glad you shared it!
This is such an unexpected and creative use of wonderful old belts that I pass up all the time. I know my granddaughters would love a couple. Thank you so much for sharing at Share It One More Time. Cathy
What do you do with the remaining pieces of the belt that is left over once you make one bracelet? I’ve been seeing this idea on Pinterest and am currently collecting a few leather belts.. But I now will collect the grommet ones as well Thxs Deb
I used left-over belt to create a handle on a crate and have cut small shapes for crafting using my Sizzix Big Shot die cut machine. You can also create a different sort of bracelet by attaching a snap to the end for closure.
