Hi everyone! Today marks my 100th Vintage Finds post–whoo whee! Pretty amazing. I’ve been documenting my finds for almost two years straight. That’s a lot of
junk fabulous vintage and antique stuff. What with our new link party starting this past Thursday and life going on as normal (high speed), I didn’t pull together a give-away for this week, but I’m going to announce one next week at Vintage Finds #101. And since I kinda blew it, I’m going to have two give aways–one vintage and one hand-crafted.
These square head nails were also among the free items. I bought a mayonnaise jar full of (smaller) square head nails a while ago for a dollar and sold them a baker’s dozen at a time for $4.99. I sold 15 packets total, netting $75.00.
More free: some sewing supplies with attractive graphics. I’ll be using these for a shadow box I have planned with a sewing theme. Laurel Leaf Farm has loads of vintage sewing notions for sale, which are both fun to look at and helpful for pricing your own goods.
This pair of fabulous posturing roosters came home with us from England in 2011. I have been slowly divesting myself of my rooster collection, and these guys are now for sale (cost: 3£ or $4.50, value: $35-40.00).
I typically buy clocks and radios for my daughter, but she has so many now, I think I’m going to see how salable they are in my shop (cost: $1.00, value: $10.00?). The eBay Guide, What You Need to Know Before Collecting Vintage Radios, provides in depth info on radio collecting–worth a look.
This pretty pink quilt top (full size) shows some wear, but is in great shape for crafting. It contains over 20, good condition pink blocks and almost 30 of the white, and is all hand-sewn (cost: $2.00, value: $40.00, as is).
Here’s a closer look at the patches. Check out Quilt Collecting Advice From the Experts for some interesting insights.
I’ve got plenty more free stuff to show you next week and a couple of pieces of small furniture still in the back of my van. I hope you’ll come back next Tuesday to see more of my vintage finds.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
