Hi everyone! I hope you had a great week-end; my sweet husband and I snuck out of town for a couple of days. For various family reasons, it’s very hard for us to get away, but we “escaped” to the Adirondacks for two nights and had a terrific time together. We stayed in a B&B on Lake Placid, in the central Adirondacks. We walked the town, shopped a nearby town-wide garage sale, enjoyed an ice skating performance at the Olympic Center, and relaxed! We arrived home last evening after stopping by a graduation party on the way home. We’re a little pooped. I thought I’d share some photos I shot on a drive we took along the northern shore of Franklin Falls Pond.
We came around the bend to this view.
The rocky shoreline, the play of light on the water, and the stillness drew us in.
Out in the quiet beauty you can calm your mind and body, and be still.
Surrounded by this kind of beauty is restorative for me.
God’s spirit quiets me, bringing refreshment and peace.
Like a drink of icy spring water on a steamy summer day, God’s Spirit can quench a parched heart, a soul filled with worry or hopelessness or stress or sorrow. But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life (John 4:14).
What words of encouragement and hope!
