Hi everyone! What seems like a very long time ago now, I used to do a [fairly] regular feature called Vintage Blog of the Week. Over time, it began to get a little overwhelming for me, especially as I wrote longer and longer “reviews” of the blogs I chose. Because I love the idea of meeting new vintage bloggers and helping us all to connect as part of the vintage blogging community, I’m starting the feature back up again, with a few small changes.
I will be calling it Vintage Blog of the Month, and the posts will be somewhat shorter, but still filled with all the vintage info you’ve come to rely on. [Blogs who’ve been part of my Vintage Blog of the Week series should feel free to substitute their “Week” button with the new “Month” button, if you like.]
I’m kicking things off with the wonderful vintage blog, Elizabeth & Co., written by Sharon, one of three gals who operate the tag sale business side of Elizabeth & Co.
Here you see them standing in front of Sharon’s 1890 historic home where they hold their sales. They’ve just spent the entire day setting up for their sale on a misty, moist-y day, but they are beautiful (Sharon’s in the center). This photo and a story about their “pop up” sales appeared in a local publication, Caroll Magazine. And are you wondering how they picked their business name? Each of these gals has a daughter with the middle name Elizabeth. (Photo source, photographer Kelly Heck.) Now, let’s take at Sharon’s blog.
I usually show the fabulous “after” photos that bloggers post of their projects, but I couldn’t resist showing you this before photo of Sharon’s bathroom. Now you have to pop over to see the amazing transformation she achieved. Let me know what you think–
An avid crafter, Sharon hand-painted this vintage-style bakery sign, both vertically, as you see here, and horizontally as well. Any vintage-lover would by happy to have one of these signs gracing her kitchen.
One of Sharon’s specialties is wreaths, in fact, she has an entire Etsy store dedicated to them. That’s where you’ll find this stunning, over-sized tulip wreath, listed for $68.00.
In addition to her on-line store, Sharon, of course, sells via the four-five “Vintage Tag Sales,” held anually with her two girlfriends in her Westminster, MD home. Here you see just a portion of the goods they offered at their fall 2015 sale.
Including this subtle, fall-toned wreath hanging on a dreamy antique window.
And some lovely white-wares. If I lived within a couple of hours of her sales, I’d be there in a New York minute!
Sharon throws a very popular link party, “Be Inspired,” every Tuesday where you’ll find bloggers sharing their DIYs, crafts, thrifty finds, and more. Then, from spring to fall, she throws a monthly “Garden Party.” Keep your eye out for more details. [Note: She may take a break from the Garden Party, but you can check out past parties via her side-bar archive.] I party with her every week at Be Inspired; I hope to see you all there this Tuesday!
I hope you’ll take some time to visit Sharon’s blog
and consider following her on her social media.
